The Odisha authorities Saturday introduced a Rs 100-crore Urban Wage Employment Initiative which, it claims, will generate employment for the urban poor in 114 urban native our bodies.

The initiative, introduced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s workplace, is geared toward round 4.5 lakh households and can run from April to September.

A senior bureaucrat stated that the initiative will contain “labor-intensive work such as maintenance and up-gradation of toilets and water infrastructure” in ULBs, whereas sustaining social distancing.

He additionally added that the initiative will attempt to assist native artisans by way of initiatives akin to wall portray and murals in urban areas.

Law Minister Pratap Jena informed reporters: “Rural areas have employment and development projects, such as MGNREGS, but urban areas do not. This project will try to address this gap”.

Last month, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had introduced a Rs 2,200-crore bundleunderneath which all of the beneficiaries of the meals safety act would obtain three months ration upfront.
